InAshton – Red + Other Notes

Holy link post today…please forgive me if you’re not a fan of links, but this post needs ’em.

I follow FrostClick on Twitter for one reason (and no, it’s not because I really like their program FrostWire): they feature some really great artists releasing their music for free on a regular basis.  Sometimes I click on the links to the music, and I am impressed enough to like it, but not necessarily mention it on the blog.  But this week they highlighted a really fantastic band.

InAshton’s album, Red, is available for free (and for a limited time, if you download it via FrostClick, you can get a couple of bonus tracks – I can’t comment on these as I haven’t redeemed them yet).  The thing is, it’s really mind-boggling how a group with this sound is giving away their music for free.

Without a doubt, they could probably sell their music quite easily; the production value is excellent, and were I running a Hot AC radio station, I would play their music.  It just fits right in with a perfect pop sound.  God, it’s just so good.  I’m not going to feature them in a podcast but I will probably play a few of their tracks here and there.

Other notes…I mentioned on twitter yesterday that this week’s podcast format is going to be a little different.  It’s not an indication of things to come – just a product of indecision this week.  I’ll leave it at that, really.

And speaking of podcasts; I discovered a really good one being produced across the pond (a big pond – the Atlantic Ocean) after following Daniel from I Am Not Lefthanded on twitter.  It’s called Rathole Radio, and is produced by a fine sounding guy called Dan Lynch.  Check it out at http://www.ratholeradio.org/, he produces some really solid sounding stuff and I really enjoy it.  I think you will too.

That’s all for now – Happy Tuesday!
