I happened to catch this tweet from The Strumbellas in my feed this morning; it came at a good time – I didn’t feel like starting a new podcast, and I needed to listen to something. Also, I was browsing some old blog posts this morning in search of some old podcasts and remembered that I used to write a LOT of posts back in the day! I want to get back to that.
So consider this an official recommendation. I really like The Strumbellas. My first introduction to them was their fantastic album “We Still Move on the Dance Floors”, which has one of the best album artwork I’ve seen in a long time. I made it my phone wallpaper for a bit (and may again soon after this post!). I first heard it in the summer, and because of that, I associate their music and that style to the season when the first heat wave strikes. Just something about the music that just fits.
Please go check out their playlist on Spotify: The Strumbellas ON THE ROAD. It’s got an excellent selection of songs curated by the band that are mostly in a similar style of what The Strumbellas play. There are some artists on there that are new to me!
I definitely recommend it for a good summer drive.
