Another mainstream music playlist for you – I promise, these won’t all be like that! It’s just so easy to share Spotify playlists, and I like all music, so this is what you’re getting. If this isn’t your bag, I recommend checking out http://www.freemusicarchive.org or http://www.jamendo.com – they have some excellent curated Creative Commons infused playlists.
I was listening to a local radio station on Sunday, where they air a program called The Café. Here’s the description of the show from their website:
Every Sunday from 9am to 12pm, we invite you to a sonic brunch at The Café where you can aurally dine on 3 hours of music that matters.Escape the mundane fare of countdowns and the steady diet of song repetitions. The music is always fresh and there’s a permanent reservation for you. The Café, where we always sing a different song.
Generally speaking the music is pretty laid back and more on the folks-y side of the Alternative Spectrum. This particular playlist starts and ends with some heavier tunes (I decided to add some songs outside of the Café hours that I liked), but overall has a nice flow and steady tempo to it.
